Objects and Humans

In our experience the city space as it emerges here in Philadelphia consists of different elements, and the “landscape of flow” is formed as much by objects as by humans. We intend to work with both human and non-human protagonists and also involve mobile and static objects. Both need different recording approaches.

Esther, situated on the side of the road, working on a recording device. Esther stands on the side of the road with equipment. A closer look at the recording device being used... Ivar sits on a curb with some of their equipment.

Together with sound and radio maker Alex Lewis we have developed different methods for getting very intimate recordings of the sounds and voices of all protagonists.

This art project is awesome. I really appreciate how you’re involving the community and teaching people as you go along. I can’t wait to see the completed project. I live in Delaware but visit Philly for events and shopping since it’s only 20 minutes away. We have a lot of stuff going on here too but nothing like this that I know of. Thanks for your contribution to our region.
