Barnes Foundation
A few weeks ago we went to the Barnes Foundation. Besides its collection, a special exhibition was on show: The World Is an Apple: The Still Lifes of Paul Cézanne
I found a great quote by Cézanne, on one of the walls. As the guard did not allow me to make photo’s, not even of the texts, on the wall, I had to write it by hand. It was a bit frustrating at first, but Ivar made a nice sketch of me while doing so on his phone:
This was the quote: “People think a sugar pot does not have a face, a soul… One needs to know how to apprehend to coax these gentlemen, these glasses, these plates, They converge amongst themselves. Objects never cease to live….”
